The Biosécuri-lait kiosk was created to raise public awareness about biosecurity on farms and promote best practices among producers.

On May 9 and 10, 2025, La Grande Visite, an open house event organized as part of the Université de Montréal's Grandes Retrouvailles, took place, and we participated in the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine's tour with our kiosk, where more than 2,000 people learned about biosecurity on dairy farms, infectious diseases in cows, and animal welfare. A big thank you to everyone who helped organize and participate in this event: Vitoria Campêlo, Faustin Farison, Mariana Fonseca, Daryna Kurban, Marie-Pascale Morin, William Nankam, Karol Gilberto Solano Suárez, Laureen Perret-Flecher, Aida Mínguez, Juan Carlos Arango, and Simon Dufour.

The kiosk was once again a great success during the open house at the Halte de la Montagne farm in Saint-Damase on September 5 and 7, 2025. On Friday, approximately 500 producers visited the new barn, where Vitoria Campêlo and Mariana Fonseca answered their questions about biosecurity in dairy production and the most common diseases in Quebec herds. On Sunday, as part of an event organized by the Union des producteurs agricoles (UPA) under the theme “Let's eat local,” nearly 800 people braved the autumn weather to participate in the activity. Near Gaston, a calf born that very morning, Karol Gilberto Solano and William Nankam, accompanied by Juan Felipe Montoya, raised public awareness of good biosecurity practices. Thanks to Aida Minguez for coordinating the activity.
